Role:

Sim is the founder and Managing Partner at Avina Capital. Sim leads the firm’s deal sourcing team, which originates debt and equity opportunities across Canada, and provides oversight to Avina Capital’s deal execution functions.

 

Background:
Over his career, Sim has arranged over $1BN in financing for developers and property owners across Canada. Sim founded Avina Capital following his work as Director of Investments for a real estate private equity firm based in Toronto. Sim previously worked with JLL and Avison Young, two of the largest advisory firms in the world of commercial real estate, where he was responsible for cultivating pivotal relationships with borrowers and lenders.

Academics:
A graduate of Ivey Business School, Sim was founder and President of the Ivey Real Estate Club.
